How to Overcome Laziness and Increase Productivity?

Thomas Simon

Have you ever had so many things to do that you didn’t even want to get up from the sofa and go do them? Do you want to go beyond your capacity, where you are now, to overcome laziness and get to work? Do you want to stop sighing with fatigue? Forget about the panic and fear of the many obligations that are piling up right before your eyes? Any problem has a solution.

If you belong to this group of people and are ready to finally get rid of laziness, then it’s time for a change! Do not put anything off on “Sunday”. Immediately go to the goal you set for yourself. Below are some good tips on how to replace bad habits with good ones and finally get rid of laziness.

Is laziness a procrastination?

Laziness is not the same as procrastination (desire to work less). procrastination helps to break down the work into several small and easy tasks. Experts even claim that procrastination has a positive effect on the skills of the employee and his creativity. All geniuses of history – inventors and many mathematicians – wanted to make their work easier, to stop wasting time on useless and routine actions. But laziness is the unwillingness to do anything.

How to fight against laziness?

Try to understand why you are lazy

You will not be able to solve the problem if you do not know the reason for it. There are several reasons that can make a person lazy. It may be a difficult task, so impossible to accomplish, that you simply don’t want to work. The feeling of powerlessness and lack of energy will completely destroy your motivation. Here are some examples:

Tiresome and boring task

People are used to facing such tasks all their lives. From tedious tasks in physics and chemistry and everyday household tasks to large business projects. Throughout their lives, people are forced to do things they are not interested in.

But look at it this way: you can’t live in a house that is a mess. If you don’t cook every day, you can’t eat healthy food every day. If you don’t study, you won’t be able to pass an important exam and get a job of your dreams. Everything has its price, and routine is the price of success.

To complete all routine tasks, make a plan. Schedule your day so that the interesting things turn into uninteresting and vice versa. Also, think about the consequences: what will happen if you do nothing?

Fear activates laziness

Sometimes you can’t accomplish your task right away. You feel that you won’t be able to do it in time. Fear puts pressure on you. Your intuition and instincts foreshadow the trouble that’s causing your productivity to drop. You want to give up all your business and go somewhere far away.

Think about it and find out why you have such fears? When you do this, you’ll feel better. The main thing is to believe in yourself, and you will succeed in everything.

Fatigue

You want to get to work, but feel too tired to move even muscles? You may have serious health problems, eat unhealthy food or move a little. Try to change your today!

Get up on time, make yourself a healthy breakfast and drink a cup of green tea. Warm up, go for a morning walk or do a series of exercises. You can also take a bike ride or go to the gym.

Believe me, the next day you will feel much better and be ready for new work victories, because when you are filled with energy, you can not feel tired.

Set clear goals

If you have no goals, you do not know what to do and where to go. The goals are your roadmap, so decide what you want to achieve in every area of life. Do not let a single day pass uselessly.

Here is one sentence. Take a piece of paper and write what kind of person you want to become or what you want to achieve in 5 or 10 years.

Routine – useful!

Now that you have defined your goals, plan your ideal day. Write down all the important steps to be taken on that day, and set the exact time to complete them. Once you get used to the new routine, all these daily tasks will no longer seem difficult.

Divide a large task into several smaller ones

Sometimes it is even difficult to understand which side of the big problem should be approached. So divide it into several small tasks. Try not to think of it as something big and heavy. Focus on the small things.

You can apply this principle to everything!

Do you buy new furniture and clothes? The simple thought of long search for suitable things that you can’t do without can put pressure on you. Solve only one problem per day. Do you need shoes? Buy them today! Do you need a new jacket? Buy it tomorrow! Spend only 15 minutes a day on such tasks to not get tired of them.

Get away from lazy people

Remember that your interlocutors influence your thinking and lifestyle. If the people with whom you spend most of your time are very lazy, you will also feel lazy. On the other hand, if you communicate with active and successful people, their energy will be transferred to you. You will have motivation, you will want to succeed.

Use laziness as a reward

Overcoming laziness is not difficult, especially if you spoil yourself from time to time. Encourage yourself after you have completed all the daily tasks. Watch TV, go to social networks. All these things prevent you from working productively, but outside the office – they are pleasant and useful.

Look for inspiration and motivation

Read books of successful entrepreneurs, listen to positive people, do everything that can inspire you and change your life for the better.

It depends on you in what direction your life will move. Only you choose who and what you will become. Fight with laziness. Become successful.
