Almost 2000 UK workers were asked how productive they feel during an average workday, and the results may surprise you. Only 21% of employees feel truly productive for an entire workday, while 79% admitted that they don’t think they are truly productive for all eight hours. Their productivity lasts till lunchtime hardly. On average, these employees only work less than three productive hours per day.

On average, employees get interrupted 7 times during an hour, and each interruption costs them 5 minutes of work time which leads to a decrease in the average productivity of the workplace. In this way, during an 8-hour workday, an employee may lose up to 4 hours of productive working time due to distractions.

The average person spends two hours in bed asleep each day and studies show that people who get an early start on their days tend to be more productive than those whose slumber isn’t so restful.
